New Hoax pics

5 new movie stills and one new set picture over here.
I also added a new poster, although I'm not really sure it's an "official" one. :/
Casting News for New Amsterdam
13 Feb 2007
Zuleikha Robinson ("Rome") and Alexis Gilmore have joined the cast of the Fox drama pilot "New Amsterdam."

"Alexis Gilmore" seemed like an odd name combination to me , so I looked it up and it turns out that there is no actress with that name, only an "Alexie Gilmore", or it's someone completely new in her first major role.
More likely it's a typo (understandable, what with Alexis Bledel playing the lead on Gilmore Girls), but we'll see.

Basically, Lasse is being silly, the photographer is being silly and the results can be seen here.
Updates Part II - TV

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, a danish actor, last seen in Firewall with Harrison Ford. Learn more about him here.
I haven't decided yet how to fit the tv thing into the site, I might create an extra section for it, but probably not before we know if it gets picked up or not. So for now, always check the main site for info on New Amsterdam.
Then Anton sent me an article about Lasse shooting a commercial for I Can't Believe It's Not Butter, which I first didn't believe at all until I researched a bit and found out that Lasse is in fact shooting commercials for Rascal Films on a regular basis.
Apparently I have been living under a big giant rock for the past...2 years?
Anyways, they have a page with a few of his commercials here. If you don't want to watch them all, you should at least watch the first one because it is absolutely wonderful and very amusing what with the Johann Strauß music and all.
Anton also translated the article about the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter-commercial, if you want to know more:
Lasse Hallström's secret commercial
The Swedish Hollywood director Lasse Hallström has just finished a big secretive commercial shooting. Resumé can exclusively reveal the details in this project. The commercial is made together with Rascal Films and Palma Pictures.
Updates Part I - Movies
30 Jan 2007
Anyways, I'm going to divide this into three parts, and we're starting with Movies.
First off, new Hoax still over here.
Miramax seems to be sticking with the April 06 release date, at least for now.
Secondly, it looks like Lasse is no longer attached to Boone's Lick, the western drama with Tom Hanks and Julianne Moore, instead of him Barry Levinson is set to direct it. I will leave it in the rumour mill until it's confirmed though.
Then there's another new project called "Sammy", starring Reese Witherspoon:
Producer Laurence Mark ("Jerry Maguire," "Dreamgirls") is eager to get his pet project "Sammy" to the screen. It is adapted from, of all things, a lunch conversation between Mark and writer Delia Ephron. "She was chatting about people who claim they speak to the dead, and I chimed in about pet psychics," he says. "We realized there was a romantic comedy here about a pet psychic who falls in love with a guy who talks to the dead. Naturally, when we discussed it with executives, they thought we were off our rockers."
Ephron decided to write the script anyway. "She realized the idea sounded wacky, but she understood that as a movie it would be about believing that all things are possible," says the producer, who is now in negotiations with Lasse Hallstrom to direct. "I'm determined to get it made," he says. "After all, like the movie, it's all about believing."
Source, thanks Anton.
Lasse goes TV
04 Jan 2007
Lasse Hallstrom is making his foray into American television with the Fox drama pilot "New Amsterdam."
The Oscar-nominated director is set to helm and executive produce the Regency TV project from writers Allan Loeb and Christian Taylor.
Tentatively titled "New Amsterdam," the drama centers on a man cursed with immortality who works as a homicide detective in New York.
Hallstrom is executive producing the pilot with his producing partner Leslie Holleran, Loeb, Taylor and Loeb's producing partner Steven Pearl.
Hallstrom, who worked in television in his native Sweden for 10 years before coming to the U.S. in 1989, said he had been toying with the idea of venturing into U.S. television for years but that his feature schedule never permitted him to do a pilot.
With "New Amsterdam," he not only gets to go back to the medium where he started his career but also gets to tackle a new genre -- a detective drama.
"I was really intrigued by the writing," Hallstrom said. "I find it emotionally very strong with a very interesting lead character and a recognizable observation of human behavior."
Hallstrom was nominated for an Academy Award for directing the 1999 feature "The Cider House Rules" and for writing and directing the 1985 Swedish film "My Life as a Dog."
His feature directing credits also include "What's Eating Gilbert Grape," "Chocolat," "The Shipping News" and "Casanova."
His latest film, "The Hoax," which stars Richard Gere, is slated to open April 6.
Hallstrom and Holleran are repped by CAA and attorney David Nochimson.

WOHOO!! Let's hope that it gets picked up (although I am not sure what that would mean for Lasse's planned movies on the big screen) and that Fox will treat it better than his other new series, like for example, "Justice".
Happy New Year everyone!
