03 Dec 2005
Finally I can present you a project I have been working on for months now!!

Together with LENA OnLINe, HeathBaby.com and Sienna-Online.org we have created a Fansite for the movie Casanova.

There you can find anything and everything you ever wanted to know about the movie. The site is still growing and will be updated on a daily base.

You can find it at www.Casanova-Movie.com.

Casanova rated R
23 Nov 2005
It's official - "Casanova" got an "R" rating by the MPAA. (Means: If you are under 17, you can't go without an adult person accompanying you.)

Lasse's thoughts on it: (Thanks to Sarah)

The MPAA has given the minorly-controversial epic Casanova and R rating, and that makes director Lasse Hallstrom mad. So mad, in fact, that he's pointing fingers in bizarre places. Calling the rating "a pretty dramatic decision and the wrong one," he insists that the MPAA is merely reacting to increased cultural tensions brought on "after Clinton and [Janet] Jackson showing one tit at a football game. Had this film been made a few years ago it would've been rated PG-13." Hallstrom says the ratings board had a problem with "the under-the-table scene", in which "an underage teenager frolics with Casnova during a ball". Hallstrom has battled with the MPAA before; he also complains about having to "cut out thrusts" in a sex scene between Charlize Theron and Tobey Maguire in The Cider House Rules in order to land a PG-13.

Having seen the movie, I can only agree with him.
Said "Under-the-table"-scene is absolutely harmless, totally hilarious and definitely not a reason to give the movie an "R" - Rating.

There are a few minutes with "graphic" scenes in the beginning of the movie, but it's still harmless.

So, if you are under 17, get yourself an adult person and go watch the movie, there's nothing to be afraid of. wink
Casanova & AUL Trailer, more premiere pictures
16 Nov 2005
I just uploaded a few more pictures from Sunday to the Gallery, and I also found a nice clip including short interviews with both Lasse and Lena, Jule was so kind to convert it since my programs are playing crazy.

Also, I added a new AUL poster to the gallery, and Jule and Luna found german trailers to both Casanova and Unfinished Life. Thanks girls. smile

Pics from the Casanova US Premiere
14 Nov 2005
Yesterday evening was the US premiere of Casanova in Los Angeles, and of course Lasse, Lena and almost the whole main cast attended.

I just uploaded 13 pictures to the gallery (more to come), you can take a look at them here.

The first reactions to the movie seem to be overwhelming, apparently many press members are sure Casanova is going to become the Blockbuster of the winter season. (I agree, just by the way tongue)

Jess found a really nice review from Truckblog.com I wanted to share as well:

Lasse Hallstrom's "Casanova" is a brilliant film about history's most famous Lothario set in 18th century Venice. This is most certainly the best offering of Casanova ever put to celluloid....

Click on "Read more" below if you want to read the full review, but be aware that it's pretty spoilery.
Casanova, ABBA and Hoax
01 Nov 2005
According to Richard Gere himself, the filming of "The Hoax" has wrapped, in an interview with comingsoon.net he talked a bit about it:

It has a wonderful, crazy cast and a great script," he told us. "It's a really peculiar, maybe not so little, movie, but certainly with an independent feel. I pushed a lot of boundaries on it. It's a real mixture. It's funny, but it's also wacky and dark and slapstick at the same time. It's a pretty original piece.

Sounds like something to look forward too!

In ABBA news, german tv broadcaster Kabel 1 has dedicated a whole evening to the swedish band tomorrow, November 2 starting at 20.15 CET. There will be a lot of information on the band's way to success, and they will also broadcast "ABBA - The Movie" on 22.15 CET. More can be read here.
By the way, the Release Date of "ABBA - The Movie" in the USA has once again be postponed - looks like December now.

Also, the Denver FilmFestival announced it's line up and Casanova is featured once again on a Film Festival: The movie will be screened on November 18 as "big night film". Tickets have been available since October 26, more information can be found here.
Portraits, Press Kits and more

Today we have a larger update:

I've added an adorable portrait session Lasse did in 2002 during the Berlin Film Festival, consisting of five pictures.

Also available now: The Press Kits for both Unfinished Life and Casanova, containing loads of Behind-The-Scenes information including Interviews with Lasse.

I've finally added the first movie reviews to the Press Archive, starting with An Unfinished Life (Thanks to Sarah!).

And last, huge enormous thanks to Touchstone for sending over the updated version of the Casanova poster as well as two more promotion stills!
